Can I link my wordpress.com blog to my domain blog?

I’m in a bit of a pickle. I am a blogger, and need to be able to comment on other people’s blogs. However, there are a lot of people using Blogger, who request you comment with either your google account or openID.

My blog, markaeology.com, is its own domain name, but though it’s powered by WordPress I can’t use it to comment on Blogger blogs. I have a wordpress.com username, but the associated blog is the one stated and doesn’t work for Blogger comments.

So I thought I’d be clever and register a wordpress.com blog under my wordpress.com username (markaeologywp.wordpress.com). Doing this, I was finally able to comment on a Blogger blog (though it did so “Anonymous”-ly), but now of course I have two blogs.

What are my options? Ideally I don’t want “markaeologywp.wordpress.com”, but is there any other way of commenting on Blogger blogs? If there is no other way, and I have to keep my wordpress.com blog, can I have it automatically forwarded to my proper blog, markaeology.com?

Thank you in advance for any help you can give.

    Mark.

  • OpenID is a finicky thing. In order to use it, you’ll need to have a public WordPress.com blog at the same subdomain as your username. Unfortunately, there’s no way around that.
