Instead of having a huge scrolling down blog, can I ad a link to each year if I create a page called 2013, 2012, etc?I am desperate!!!!!!!
Thanks!

Could you set up your timeline page like a photo gallery? I have a photo gallery on my page and on the main photo gallery page, I have multiple photo galleries set up. To avoid having all of the pictures on that one page and scroll forever, I linked the photos that pertain to each gallery to one photo & title, like the cover of a photo album. So, when you click on the main picture, it links you to the related gallery. Is something like this what you are trying to do?

Or could you do this in the custom menu and a drop down list? I’ve also done that. For example, in my navbar, I have a page set up as “Galleries”. When that link is hovered over, (you can’t actually click on it), a drop down menu appears with two links; one to a “Photo Gallery” page and one to a “Video Gallery” page. So, they are all separate pages, but only two have the content I want people to see & they are the only ones you can actually navigate to. Is this more like what you want to do? If so, you can look up how to do a custom menu in the help files.

The front page of the blog by default will display your posts (not pages) in reverse chronological order, with the most recently published post on top. If you do not want all the posts to show on the front page, then you can create a static front page http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/front-page/
Among the most common misconceptions is that bloggers fail to understand is
(1) there is only one page we can post to in any blog and
(2) the static pages http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/ they create do not automatically update.Only the dynamic pages like Categories, Tags and Archives created by the software when we publish a post we that we have assigned Categories and Tags too will update automatically update with new posts.
By default the front page of the blog is the post that displays all posts in your blog. Though there is only one dynamic page in a blog for posts (not pages) http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/ and we cannot post to more than that one page, we can create the appearance that we have posted to more than one page.
We organize posts by assigning categories to them. You can create a custom menu and add the dynamic categories pages into the custom menu.

http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/#changing-the-order-creating-sub-menusP.S. Volunteers cannot view private blogs so asking for our help in essence that means we are working in the dark wearing blinders.
