Can I list sponsors on my local news website?

  I’m developing a local news website and plan to upgrade to a hosted WordPress.org site as my skills and readership develop. Then I plan to post ads on the site. In the meantime I’d like to get support from local businesses to sponsor my site – pay for supplies and operational costs. I’d like to just list sponsors with taglines and links to their sites as I get my blog up and running. Is this acceptable?
