Can I make a journal with DOI?

    I would like to start a new academic journal. The website I need has to:
    -collect submissions from authors
    -send the submitted abstract to referees
    -if accepted, assign a DOI to the abstract and publish it

    Can wordpress do all that?

    Hi there. I don’t think WordPress.com will work for this. A self-hosted site using the WordPress.org software might be a better fit. With WordPress.org you can install the plugins you’ll need for the additional functionality you require.

    WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate and different: http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

    You can also post in the WordPress.org support forum to find out what you’ll need to set up the type of site you require: http://wordpress.org/support/ If you don’t already have a username on that forum, click the register button in the upper right corner so you can post in that forum.
