  I wish to turn a post into a sticky post, and later back again

  You can make a post sticky by following these directions:

  http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/post-visibility/#sticky-posts

  Just do the same again to make it ‘un-sticky’.

  Sorry to bother you. I should have searched harder. I found on mention of sticky posts on my dashboard.
