Can I make a small change to a theme. need to see the word menu next to menu bar

  In my theme the menu bar is in the top right of the layout but doesn’t say menu.just has 3 dashes.
  Is there anyway to add it so people now it’s a drop down menu? or do I have to get a different theme?
  it is a free theme so I might be out of luck.

  See here please https://wordpress.com/themes/singl/ and know that editing the underlying template is not possible. All blogs wearing the same theme at WordPress.com use the same underlying template, and CSS editing cannot be used to chnage how any theme is designed to function; it’s for appearance changes only.
