Can I make a subpage the “post” page

  • Unknown's avatar

    I am setting up a blog. I want the front page to remain pretty much static and be and “introduction”. I want one of my subpages (day-to-day) to be the page where the posts automatically go. It would also be nice if I could put a sub-navigation on the day-to-day page. I am using the “Chaotic Soul” theme.

    On our family blog there is a “front page” that is static and then the posts go to a “post” page. My son set that one up and I can’t tell from looking at it how to do it (he is not here and not reachable at this time). We used “cutline” for that blog.

    I do not know if this is a function of the theme I have chosen or what I am missing in the new blog yo make this work. Any ideas?

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Please link to the blog in question. We can’t help without that.

    @cookiebreak
    G’day
    I’m guessing this is your blog http://cookiebreak.wordpress.com/ We require the link to the blog to which you refer when you post to this forum. You can either post it or link your username to it. Here’s how to link your username to your blog in your blog Dashboard –> Users –> Your Profile. Then scroll down to where it says ‘Website‘ and fill in the address of your blog and then click ‘Update Profile‘.

    You can assign any static page to become a static front page and any other static page to become the running posts page here > Settings > Reading

    Sorry! The link to the blog my son set up–the one that already has the posts on a “sub-page” is byallaccounts.wordpress.com. That is the one where I am using the cutline theme

    The one I am trying to set up is triathletewannabe.wordpress.com. I have started with the “Chaotic soul” theme but I don’t have much there yet as I am just trying to st it up.

    Thanks

    Yay! Thanks so much timethief! Amazing how easy it is when you know where to look. I think I looked under almost every heading except that–and I would not have thought it to be under “reading”.

    Thanks again!
