Can I make an image appear next to blog excerpt in Facebook?

  I want an image to appear next to my blog excerpt when I share a post on Facebook, but none does. I have Ascetica theme. How can I fix?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi there,

  After looking into your blog, I found that I was able to share your first post on Facebook: The Most Important Thing Right Now with the image as seen here:

  

  Please note that Facebook will normally pull the Featured Image that you set and they ask that images be at least 200px by 200px.

  You can see what images Facebook is pulling through here.

  Hi,

  I appreciate the response!

  I am fine with the featured image appearing and don’t know why that isn’t happening.

  But when I click the Facebook share button at the bottom of my post, the post I see on my facebook page (and in the Facebook feed) just has a big blank square next to the post title and excerpt.

  If you have any other advice or explanation it would be much appreciated! Do I need to just copy my link onto Facebook rather than clicking the share button?

  I was able to update the post. :) While it won’t affect posts already shared, if you re-share it, you can view the update.

  Hi, I am having the same problem again. I added a featured image to a blog post, tried to post on Facebook and the featured image did not appear as a thumbnail, removed and re-added the featured image, logged in and out, tried reposting again, and the image still did not appear as a thumbnail this time. Just wanted to give you a heads-up about this (apparent) glitch. Thanks.

  HI there,

  This looks like an issue with Facebook. After I debugged the post using their debugger tool, it is now working. I was able to share the post and the thumbnail came up as seen here:

  

  Next time this happens, can you try entering the link to the direct post here:

  https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/#_=_

  Debug the post and try resharing it. It should work. If this continues to happen, it might be something to report to Facebook.

  Hi Grace,

  Thanks for the suggestion. I’ll definitely try it! I post links to facebook for my job and haven’t had this problem–but hopefully this will do the trick. Will let you know!
