so far I have created a quite simple web presence with a bunch of pages and a blog on the free wordpress.com site. will need to collect personal data from customers for online bookings and want to provide at least https or even green lock pages for that transaction. how to go about that? thinking about upgrading to a premium deal… does that provide ssl certificate options?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Basically, no. WP.com is quite secure but you can’t add outside security services to it. What I would do is use a Contact Form and the Paypal button and then Paypal’s security covers the financial transaction.

not quite the answer I was hoping for and actually a bit hard to believe that there is no way to use ssl on wp.com … paypal won’t work cause it is not only the payment information that needs to be transferred via a secure link but also some personal data. my only way around the dilemma is to get some different webhosting right? any suggestions?
