Can I map a subdomain to a wordpress blog from a different registrar?
-
Hi. I teach a wordpress.com class and have a question about sub-domain mapping. I know that you can do this if you purchase a domain name through WordPress, but I wondered if this could be doe if both the domain name and the sub-domain name are registered via GoDaddy?
Here’s what I’d like to do: wordpress.com currently does not allow e-commerce buttons. I’d like to try creating an e-commerce page on a different website and then link the URL to the wordpress blog via the custom menu option. All my domain names reside at GoDaddy and I would prefer to create the sub-domain name there as well. Also, other students may have domain names elsewhere as well.
Is this possible, or do I need to register the sub-domain through wordpress.com?
