Can i map an .id.au domain
-
I currently self host wordpress and would like to transfer it to wordpress.com hosting and pay for the mapped domain.
When I try to map the domain it tells me that I it is not registered.
Is mapping a *.id.au domain possible with wordpress.com
I am trying to map cwraig.id.au to cwraigidau.wordpress.com
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I don’t believe you can register it using WP. WP lists these as the domains it registers:
.com, .org, .net, .info, .biz, .co, .me, .mobi, .tv, .live
https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/#available-domains
But they also state that:
If the domain extension you want to use is not available for registration on WordPress.com, you can register elsewhere and add it to your WordPress.com blog using Domain Mapping.

Kulash,
Thanks, this is what I am trying to do (Map the domain I have already registered). I get the error from the “Map a Domain” interface as below.“Sorry but cwraig.id.au has not been registered yet therefore cannot be mapped.”
However it has been registered with a domain registrar, is this some kind of wordpress registration I need to do as well?

Hi @cwraigidau, thanks for pointing us this way. I’ve mapped this for you, so you’ll just need to finish up with these steps:
– Purchase the subscription by renewing here:
https://wordpress.com/my-upgrades– Point the domain to our name servers and give it a few hours to take effect:
ns1.wordpress.com
ns2.wordpress.com
ns3.wordpress.com– Set the domain as primary under https://wordpress.com/my-domains
Let us know if you need more help!
