Can I mention my sponsors on wordpress.com

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hello everyone,
I’m about to embark on a long journey and I was thinking to set up a blog on wordpress.com with the domain name which costs 18 dollars a year.
I have sponsors and since I read advertising it’s not allowed I wanted to ask,
can I mention my sponsors or at least make a page “Partners” and put their logo?
Also is it allowed to click on the logo and get redirected to another site???
Thanks for your help. I don’t understand much and I will appreciate your answers.
    Best regards,
    Tonini

    Hi there,
You can mention your sponsors and add links to their websites by clicking their names for example. WP says “Most affiliate links and sponsored posts from reputable merchants are allowed on WordPress.com, as long as your blog’s primary purpose is to create original content, and not merely to send traffic to these sites.” So as long as you use their names in your content, you won’t have any problems, but be careful with banners, they’re not allowed.

Just to reassure you, Tonini, on one of my blogs, I talk about some of my favorite books. I am signed up with Amazon Associates, and if anybody buys a book I recommend, I get a few cents from Amazon.com. I checked ahead of time to make sure this is allowed, and it is, just like Carladoria said above, even though I make money from it. It’s only about $10 a year, but like you, I wanted to make sure it was allowed before I did it.
