Can I move a free wordpress.com to an existing custom domain?
-
I didn’t have any luck looking on wp.org for my question, so I’m hoping to find an answer here.
In addition to this wordpress.com site, I have a separate account that I use with a custom domain on wordpress.org.
I would like to possibly move my wordpress.com to the wordpress.org site (once I’ve purchased a domain for the wordpress.com). Is that possible? What would I need to do to make this transfer?
Also, if it is possible to migrate my wordpress.com account to my wp.org, will all my followers, etc stay the same?
TIA

You can move your WordPress.com site to a WordPress.org install. Here’s how that works: http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#moving-to-wordpress-org
You can also migrate your followers. here’s the process for that:

I found a tutorial similar to this after I posted, but wasn’t sure it would work. It looks like it will (and how simple!). Thanks for your help Liz.
