Can I move my existing site to WordPress.com hosting?
-
Hi everyone,
I already have a website running here: https://www.inspirebundle.com/. Right now it’s hosted on another provider, but I’m thinking about switching over to WordPress.com hosting. My questions are:
- Is it possible to migrate this whole site as it is to WordPress.com?
- If yes, do I need to rebuild the design/content, or can it be transferred directly?
- Are there any limitations I should know (plugins, themes, custom code, etc.)?
Would appreciate any guidance or resources on the migration process.
Thanks in advance!

Hello @inspirebundle
Yes, you can definitely move your site over to WordPress.com and it’s actually a great choice if you’re looking for less hassle and more peace of mind.
- Migration: If your site is already on WordPress, you can export your content and import it here. WordPress.com also offers a professional migration service where their team handles the move for you, so you don’t need to worry about the technical side.
- Design & content: All of your content (posts, pages, media, etc.) can be transferred. For design, you’ll be able to choose from a wide range of modern, fully responsive themes. If your current theme isn’t available here, you can still recreate a very similar look using the block editor and customization tools.
I’d recommend looking at the Business Plan or higher. Those plans let you install plugins, upload any theme you want, and even add custom code basically all the flexibility of self-hosting, but with WordPress.com’s performance, reliability, and expert support behind you.
Here’s a detailed guide to get started: Move to WordPress.com
