can i move my site to my computer?

  I started to built a site, then I decided to buy a domain name, now the confusion starts.

  My new site is up and running and (while this is completely new to me) it seems to be working correctly. Odd thing though, I still edit the site from the old name with the .wordpress address.

  What I want to do is move the .com site to my computer so I can make changes, play around, save my work, and then publish to the .com not the .wordpress… is that possible?

  I have already installed wordpress on my computer. What add ons will I need to do this? Is there a step by step tutorial for this (remember I am completely new to wordpress).

  Short question. Is it possible to copy the site to my computer, then publish changes from there?
