Can I move my wordpress blog with premium them to a hosted wordpress.org

  Hi, Im a bit confused. I have actually bought the Fresh news theme and have applied it to my worpress.com blog and I have also bought the domain which is also hosted by wordpress.com(the $17 one,where you will have custom domain for 1 year).
  I am actually planning ahead of my blog so I am planning to move my wordpress.com hosted blog to a hosted wordpress.org and maybe choose hostgator as my host provider.
  However
  I have read on the premium themes forums premium themes post saying
  Note: Premium Themes are customized for WordPress.com usage only, and cannot be transferred to self-hosted WordPress.org sites.

  but
  on the other support post about adding new themes it said that:
  You can move your WordPress.com blog to a web host that allows editing and uploading of completely custom themes. You can find suitable hosts here.

  now I am confused.please help

  No I’m sorry the premium themes are coded to run on WordPress.COM software and cannot be transferred to WordPress.ORG installs. WordPress.COm software is multiuser blogging software. The blog content can be exported and imported however.

  ow that’s bad T_T.
  so I can’t use my premium theme to a hosted wordpress.org site? so it means when I make a wordpress.org site. I still have to buy a similar theme to what I like and install it there right?

  Thanks I have checked it, so I can only move my contents and not the theme.d’oh!

  Yes. WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG tun on different software. Themes by the same names sometimes have two versions ie. one for this multiuser blogging platform and another for self hosted WordPress.ORG installs. You can move all your content by export and import, except what’s in the text widgets, which you have to copy and paste. You will be exporting and importing your links in a separate file. There are some in-house WordPress.COM widgets that will not be included in the WordPress.org install.
