Can I move self-hosted W-Press.org blogs to W-Press.com and keep domain names?
-
Currently I have two self-hosted websites using WordPress.org and I would like to bring them over to WordPress.com. (One is tommcpherson.ca and the other is vancouverastrology.com) I am aware of the instructions regarding exporting and then importing the XML file. The support forum seems to suggest that I need to start new domain names but I would like to keep my existing ones. Are there more detailed instructions on this process?

I think I found something very helpful.

Well, that wasn’t that hard after all! I successfully moved vancouverastrology.com from a self-hosted site to WordPress.com. However…
I used Jetpack in my site’s former location, where, among other things, I viewed my stats regularly. I would like to bring the site’s history into this new location. Can I import that history into my site’s new home? Right now, under “Manage My Blogs”, the site is showing up as two separate entities (the old one and the new one) and I’d like to merge them. Is that possible? -
