I have set up a gallary in the main sidebar, but wish to more it to the left hand side of the sidebar. Can this be done? Doing so would enable the pictures and all blog post links to be viewed together.
Many thanks!

Even if you did have a single column in your gallery widget, it would still fill the entire width of your theme’s sidebar.
If you have the Custom Design upgrade (part of the Premium bundle) and can edit your theme’s CSS, you might be able to do this, but not without it.
If I misunderstood your intention, or that didn’t cover what you need, please post back here.

Thanks for the reply Justjennifer.
I think I have mislead you but I suspect that your advice will be the same.
By LHS, I was referring to the LHS of the screen and so the width of the theme’s sidebar on the left. (As opposed to have two or more columns in the existing gallery widget…).
Does that also require the upgrade?
Many thanks again! -
The theme you are using Twenty-Twelve, doesn’t have a left-hand sidebar area.
Are you perhaps referring to the content area on your static front page (where you currently have “The notJack Writers’ Prize supports Australian writers…”) or actually moving the existing sidebar on the right side to the left side?
If you want the images currently in the Gallery widget to appear in the content area of your static front page instead, you can use the Gallery feature directly in the content area rather than the widget. See here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/gallery/
If you want to switch the position of the sidebar, I believe it can be done with the Custom Design upgrade, which is part of the annually renewing Premium Bundle. You can ask before you buy in the CSS Customization forum.
If you do remove the Gallery widget from the sidebar (which right now would remove it from all pages), drag it over to the “Inactive Widgets” area of the Widget Dashboard. That way the settings are kept in case you decide to use the widget again. http://notjackwritersprize.wordpress.com/wp-admin/widgets.php You may need to close the top “Available Widget” menu by clicking on the triangle before you can see the “Inactive Widget” area.
Also, Twenty-Twelve has a special static front page template that might work for you better than the Page you are using now. Have a look at the theme’s Showcase page linked above.
Let me know if you need more help with any of that.
