can I password protect my blog?

  I’m a teacher and would like to use my blog solely for my pupils and their parents. In order to ensure that I am safeguarding my classes, I would like to have the blog accessible only by those who have registered with me, and to have it password protected. Is this possible with WordPress?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi,
  You can make your blog private and then invite your students and their parents. To make your blog private, go to your WP Admin -> Settings -> Reading. In Site Visibility, select the option “I would like my site to be private, visible only to myself and users I choose”
  To invite users, go to Users -> Invite new, and then type the email of the person you want to invite.
