  I want my domain with .wordpress.com still remain.. is it possibble once i upgrade to the paid plan?

  Yes, of course.

  Your free domain will always remain and pointed to the same site even after you’ve upgraded and acquired a custom domain.

  There’s also no need to register a custom domain if you prefer to use the free .wordpress.com subdomain.
