Can I play an online video file in my WordPress blog?

  I have a video file which I have placed on a shared hosted server. Can I play that video file on my WOrdpress Blog, without paying for the VideoPress subscription?

  I usually do that for my podcasts; The audio files are elsewhere and I simply link them in the audio player on my site. Can I do that with VideoPress, without paying for the subscription.

  It’s not as simple as that. You can do that with youtubes, but not with external video files. You can embed them using the Vodpod button you can get from vodpod.com.

  Thanks raincoaster, will check out VodPod; When VideoPress was initially announced, I thought I read that you could link to a self hosted video file. I can’t find that now in Matt’s original announcement – probably edited out. :-)
