Can I please confirm this with a staff member?…adding my own domain
-
Please can I have this confirmed with a staff member?….. as I don’t want to stuff it up before I make payment.
I would like to add my own domain to my current free wordpress site which is karenyoga.wordpress.com …I have purchased my own domain recently (not through wordpress as I bought a .com.au domain).
Is it correct that I can continue my free account and simply pay the $17 (AUS) per year to have my own domain? (ie. without upgrading to premium)
I have already had a helpful member suggest that it may be possible if my wordpress account is an old account, it’s a few years old.The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Thanks @timethief I have read those articles that you linked to, hence my confusion.
I clicked on ‘domains’ on the left side, and then one of the options is “already own a domain?” and I can click a box that says “map it” at a price of $17 (AUS) per year. It allows me to type in my new domain, and then takes me to a page for me to pay by credit card.
If this isn’t allowed on a free-wordpress site, then why do I have this option coming up?
I just want to do this right -
