Can I post Amazon Associates links on a free WordPress template? if so, how?

The blog must be an actual blog and not just a site that’s pimped out with post after post driving traffic to third party sites. Posting of some affiliate links is possible, provided the blog is an actual blog and not just a storefront. Please read > http://en.support.wordpress.com/affiliate-links/ closely.
WordPress.com allows bloggers to insert text affiliate links within post and page content to most third-party affiliate programs, provided they are not the primary content of the site in question.
Image affiliate links in posts and pages and any banners, affiliate links in sidebar or footer widget areas, are still considered to be advertising and are not allowed on WordPress.com blogs.

Thank you for replying. I cannot find out how to insert the codes to a free template though. I can see all sorts of other things, but not affiliate links.
