can I post on different pages?
-
When I post an entry, it shows up only in the posts page. Is there a way by which I can post on different pages at the same time?

to write a page (what you were writing are posts): dashboard -> write -> page

No. It’s important to understand that there is only one page on a blog that will automatically update when you publish a post — the posts page. You can change which page it is but only one page will automatically update.
If you want to change which page is your “posts page” then make your choices and click “Update Options” to save -> Options – > Writing

Interesting topic, I had the same question. Following up with Thief: understanding that only one page at any given time can be designated to automatically update, can you toggle back and forth between making different pages the “posts” page–so that after time several pages in the blog will appear to have chronological entries and comments?

thanks. i figured that out after fiddling around too but is there a chance that my posts are going to be transferred to the posts page everytime i switch?
-
no apparently that doesn’t work…my posts ar3e transferred to the page i assign to be the posts page :(

Frowny face indeed…anyway, thanks for the clarification…my comment was actually a question (not a statement), so I’m glad you cleared things up for me, even if the result is disappointing–I was really hoping that multiple pages within a blog could support chronological posts…oh well…

Sheesh … I’m sorry I didn’t make that more clear from the outset. But I’m glad you actually tried it and proved to yourself that there is no “work around”.

There is no way to create multiple dynamic pages within a wordpress.com blog will support chronological posts. If you need a CMS then you need different software.

@rentra
If CMS software is what you need then, go for it –
search the web for free CMS software -
Forgive the clueless question(s), but can I apply CMS software to a WordPress.com blog (not a server-installed blog)? For reasons I won’t bore you with, I’m limited for the time being only to hosted blogs like WP.com (appreciate the reference tho)…
