Can I pull art from current site to put into new site?

  I’m changing my theme to a portfolo-focused theme, but it doesn’t transfer smoothly when I view it, so I need to do it from scratch. I don’t want to mess up my current site, and want to copy files for the new site from it. Is this possible?
