Can I put a WP.com site on hold/not public?

  I have switched from .com to .org, but I don’t want to remove my old WP.com site right away – I just want to put it on hold, if possible with a message with a link to the new site. Is that possible?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi mdemey, sure. You can make the site private:
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/

  Or you can redirect it to the new one, assuming posts are at similar URLs:
  https://wordpress.com/domains/add/site-redirect/
