Can I read Akismet-caught comments?
-
I see that Akismet has caught 14 spam comments. Is there any way I can read them to make sure they really are spam, or do I have to manually adjust the settings to I would have to approve everything first from now on?
Thanks! The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

G’day,
For information on settings > http://en.support.wordpress.com/unwanted-comments/You can find your spam filter contents here > Dashboard > Comments
http://historyclub.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit-comments.php
Then Click “Spam”

Oh—I forgot to say, nothing shows up in my “spam” folder…yet at the bottom of my Dashboard it says “akismet has caught 12 comments…has caught 14 comments…” The number keeps rising, but in the box where it says “___ Comments, ___ Approved, ___ Pending, ___ Spam”…the Spam one remains at 0.

Okay now I know where you are coming from. The worst of all spam is removed first – we don’t get it passed on to us. Here is Staff on the subject >

So, when it doesn’t show up in the Spam count that means it’s from some known spam-warehouse? That forum post convinced me that I probably don’t need to see what it blocked. But I specifically ask for people to comment on old posts, so I hope that isn’t triggering anything (probably not, from the sound of it).

“I specifically ask for people to comment on old posts, so I hope that isn’t triggering anything”. Yes it does, because your default setting is immediate discarding of spam on old posts. Go to Settings>Discussion and tick the option “Don’t discard spam on old posts” (don’t forget to scroll down and click save Changes).

Oh man.
Now that I know that, I’m changing it. I didn’t know whether I should or not.So is there still no way to read the Akismet-already-caught comments?
-
You cannot retrieve the ones that have automatically deleted. If you changed the setting I suggested, from now on comments caught by Akismet will remain in the spam folder for two weeks before they get deleted.
Keep in mind that Akismet is very rarely wrong: don’t be fooled by seemingly nice comments that say nothing more specific than great post, great blog and the like.

Akismet is a good plugin but it creates trouble sometime..
It caught me wrongly as spam…and I was not able to post comment on any blog. when I post comment on any wordpress blog, it shows a blank page on submitting comment.. any suggestion???
