Can I recover an old blog title?

I want to recover an old blog I created. The problem is, when I type in the domain (songofmysole.wordpress.com) in Create A Blog, it says it’s already in use. However, I know that it’s been removed already. Why can’t I use the same name?

songofmysole.wordpress.com is no longer available.
The authors have deleted this site.Sorry but there is no way to recover the URL you deleted because there is no recycling of deleted blog URLs here at WordPress.com. Confirm by reading http://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/ and
http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/

Or you can register a domain via a domain mapping upgrade and it will not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is.
