Can I recycle an blog name that has never been used for a post?

  I would like to use the wordpress name Cast Iron Kitchen to import blog posts to my website for my personal chef business. Castironkitchen.wordpress.com was taken in 2011 but has never been used for a single post. Is it possible to recycle it?

  I am afraid that whoever originally registered that name owns it no matter whether they use it or not. WP won’t tell someone to give up their name either, sorry.

  You can always use the Custom Domain and Mapping upgrades to get CastIronKitchen.com or .net or .whatever.
