Can I redirect a bad link from "Area 404" to my blog's homepage instead?

I emailed someone last week with a question and I have not heard back. I really need to get an answer as quickly as possible, so I would appreciate a response as soon as possible! I have a few links on my blog that don’t exist. When you click on them it takes you to “AREA 404” which says that the area is non existent. I need to know if there is a way to direct these links to the blog’s homepage as opposed to this “Area 404”. Please let me know!.

    Howdy,

Could you please specify which links are pointing to the 404 page?

You might consider updating your links so that they point to an available page:

Sorry if I have not been able to be specific. I am asking this question under the direction of someone else and the lines are getting crossed somewhere. I will answer you the best way I can, but I am not even sure if I understand the question at this point. Here is the link I was given. I am not sure where it is on the web.

I do know that we used to have our blog with WordPress, but we switched it to hubspot. Now we are switching back to WordPress. I think the links may be from the old WordPress Blog. This is what I was told to ask. Hopefully, you will understand better than me.

“If someone types in the wrong address, clicks on a tag or link somewhere on the web that directs them to the “Area 404” (a non-existent page or place) is there a way on WordPress that we can redirect any non-existent pages to our blogs homepage instead of the “Area 404″ Error page?”

I forgot to add that I was told that the question was not about the links. It is just a generic question about the “Area 404” pages on WordPress.

It’s not possible to change the message that appears on a “404 – Not Found” page. However, if someone sees that error message on your site, they can click on one of the tabs in your site’s navigation bar or your header to be brought back to your home page.

Thank you! That completely answers my question!
