Can I redirect a page to an external site?

  Hello,

  I have split out part of my blog and moved a few articles to another site. Is there a way to set the 301 redirect for those pages so that the existing search engine traffic to my wordpress.com/page would be sent over to my new blog?

  Is there a redirect plugin available?

  There is no FTP access to free hosted WordPress.com blogs and we bloggers cannot install any plugins.

  There is no upgrade you can purchase that changes anything at all stated here http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/ FTP access, and plugins are available only for VIP bloggers http://vip.wordpress.com/our-services/ or for those with WordPress.ORG installs.
