Can I reduce the size of a large # of photos in my media library at once?

I recently changed the theme on my website and now I am finding the following page extremely slow to load:

    http://thebooklady.ca/lego/

I do realize the reason is the number of images that I have on the page (although it didn’t seem to be an issue in my old theme?) and that I probably have them sized larger than they need to be. My question is:

Is there a way that I can reduce the size of all the pictures at once say by 50%? Or, should I remove all the photos from my media library, resize them in another program and then reload them? I am trying to avoid going this route as it will be quite time consuming for me. Or, is there another suggestion/reason why my page would be loading so slowly (knowing it was not an issue in my old theme Twenty Ten?

Thanks in advance for your help!
