  Can I reduce the width of the content area in Edin theme so that I have more space for a background image?

  The grid on Edin’s front page doesn’t really work well with a width change, but this would make more room for the background image:

  div#page{
  	max-width: 75%;
  }
  
  div#page *{
  	max-width: 100%;
  }

  Play around with increasing/decreasing that 75% number to reach your desired width.

  You might then choose a standard template for your home page instead of Edin’s front page.
