Can I remove "category archives"?
-
I upgraded the Mystique theme hoping to get rid of the “category archives:” that appears before the title of each category I’ve assigned. I can’t figure a way to remove it. I’ve looked through the forums and can’t find an answer to this for Mystique. I’d like it when my visitors visit one of my categories, for instance “essays” that the top only displays “essays” and not “category archives: essays” Can anyone please help?

As far as I recall those titles are hard-coded into the category pages and therefore we can’t edit them, regardless of upgrade.
Have a look around the forums (specifically the CSS Customization and Theme forums) and see if there might be a some information.

They can easily removed via CSS editing. Since wsantosblog has the Custom Design upgrade, he should have posted in the CSS forum.
@knowmorerobertmac: Since you don’t have the upgrade, you can switch to a theme that doesn’t display such headings. See here:

@justpi-thanks for the confirmation regarding the CSS upgrade. I couldn’t remember if it was so. :)

@wsantosblog
You have not been forgotten. You have a CSS upgrade and I have flagged this thread so it will be moved to the CSS Forum where you can get the help you need. -
@wsantosblog, this will remove the title from all archive, category and tags pages.
.archive .archive-title { display: none; } -
