Can I remove image border?
-
I’m wondering if it’s possible to remove the image borders? I’m using Green Marinée and every image has a green border. I’ve tried editing with text editor setting border to 0, also editing in code with border=”0″ but it doesn’t work at all. Am I stuck with green borders on every image?
-
Yes, in that particular theme, unless you buy the CSS upgrade. I’m assuming you’re not using your images as links, but without a direct link to check your blog, I’m only guessing. When you make an image a link it will usually have a border around it and you can’t change the colour. In some templates, even unlinked images have borders, although I’m not 100% sure Green Marinee does.

Sorry I forgot to share the link. The blog is http://australianbabyslingexpo.wordpress.com
I don’t think my images are links, but they all have the green border. If I can’t change them in the editing then I suppose they’re here to stay. Having green borders doesn’t look great at all! I wish the templates page would share the features of each template. It took me ages to find one that had the layout that would work for me, but now I guess I’ll have to go looking again.

@slingreviews
I cannot find any image at the link you gave me. Please post a link to a post with an image in it. Suffice to say that this border is probably hardcoded into the theme and that you will probably not be able to change it.Did you know you have selected one of the few themes that does not have widgets?
I see this on your blog: “If you are vendor or manufacturer of Australian baby sling or carrier products, please feel free to join our growing list of contributors! Each week we will publish a spotlight on a different manufacturer or seller of baby carriers, and a spotlight on a particular product – so please contact us to be included! If you have any sales, offers or discounts, we invite you to post them here! Have a business site or blog site? We’ll include you in our Associates list!”
Well please take note that wordpress.com blogs are non-commercial blogs and cannot be used transact business or to drive traffic to third party sites see: http://wordpress/tos section 2 – fifth bullet down. WordPress bloggers are not allowed to have sponsored or paid posts on their blogs. PayPerPost and ReviewMe are not permitted. http://faq.wordpress.com/2005/12/08/adsense/
And breaking these terms will result in blog deletion.I believe you ought to look into either self hosting or hiring a blog host and downloding the software from http://wordpress.org as it may better suit your needs. Also note that the differences between wordpress.com and wordpress.org services are in the sticky post at the head of the forum entitled “Please read me first”. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic.php?id=3700&page&replies=1

hmmm, I thought this blog would be ok because we’re just an information site, to allow these vendors to have their news posted. There are no paid posts on here, although I know some blogs (not here) do have rates for a service like that. But we do have links to other people’s websites as they’re in the community that the blog is about. So every time someone posts their news they will put a link to their page. So that isn’t allowed?
-
To tell you the truth we volunteers can only point at two things: published policy and the need for bloggers to seek staff clarification.
-
I’ve seen it done, but ttts is right, contacting staff and asking for clarification is the best way. Be sure to explain it in the Feedback as well as you have here. Use the Feedback button in the top right-hand side of your Dashboard.
-
Thanks, I’ve asked support for help with this, as I’ve read the tos a couple of times now and am still a bit hazy as to what’s allowed. I guess it could go either way, so will just have to wait for the verdict! (fully expecting my blog to suddenly disappear! LOL!) Thanks again :)

In order to remove the borders from the images you insert in your posts, you need to edit the HTML code that makes up your post. for every
<img ... />tag you need to add a style attribute, as follows:style="border: none;". For instance:
<img src="http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1186/754622827_4e0434ff59.jpg" alt="REMnants" height="337" width="500" />
becomes
<img src="http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1186/754622827_4e0434ff59.jpg" alt="REMnants" height="337" width="500" style="border: none;" />
Hope this helps,

They already tried that, if I’m reading the top post correctly. Unfortunately, it didn’t work. Have you got experience with this theme?
-
It’s a big difference between setting the border attribute to an image and setting the CSS style attribute. It MUST work no matter the theme, as the style specified with the style attribute has the highest precedence.

With my theme, writing style=”border: none;” in `<img > tag works but border=’0′ as property does not work.
Thanks to mich0u for giving a solution.
