Can I remove my custom domain from my WordPress site?

  I would like to know if, and how, I can remove the domain name I purchased here off of my blog because I transferred all of my blog to another host. When I type in “www.wheresmyscissors.com” it takes me to my new blog… when I type in “wheresmyscissors.com” it takes me back to my WordPress blog. How can stop this from happening? Thanks so much! :)

  Hi there!

  I see you’re in the midst of transferring your domain to a new registrar. Once that is done, your custom domain (with or without the www in front of it), should map properly to your self-hosted site.

  Can you tell me where you are in that process? If you need more guidance about the transfer:

  Your best bet is to move that over to a new host. You other solution is to change the name servers here at WordPress.com to point wheresmyscissors.com to your new server. Here are the instructions to do that:

  Change a Domain’s Name Servers

  You’ll need to either transfer your domain, or change the name servers, to keep the domain up and running. Removing or canceling wheresmyscissors.com will make wwwwheresmyscissors.com cease to function.
