Can I remove these categories from my home page?

  I am using a free template, and on the right side there are three entries…Recent Posts, Categories, and Archives. Can I remove these or do I need the customizing (paid) option?

  Go here > Apperance > Widgets and choose widgets that you prefer, click each one to open, configure where required, click “save”, click “close” and the choices you make will overide that default display which isn’t actual widgets.

  Yes there are and that’s why using the step-by-step tutorial is the way to go. I always recommend bloggers have a second private blog they use for testing and learning purposes. Once you learn the how-tos in it then turning your attention to the main blog is much easier and the private blog can be used as a backup blog is you set it up as a “mirror blog”.
