Can I restore my blog?

I had a problem with my host apache server (DreamHost). Now I cannot find or connect with my blog understandingdc.com/blog. Is my old blog gone forever or is there some way to restore it? Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

We provide support only for free hosted WordPress.COM blogs and not for WordPress.ORG software installs. You are posting to the wrong support forum. WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate, have different log-ins and run different versions of some themes with same names. http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there and receive advice from WordPress.ORG bloggers.

I thought my blog was on wordpress.com. DreamHost installed it sometime ago (12-14 months). I was blogging away until something happened at the DreamHost server. My entire site: http://www.understandingdc.com went down. When the server was reset everything worked fine except for my wordpress blog. It was gone. I belong to the WordPress.org forum, but never had a blog there. My account was always with WordPress.com.
The last time I requested a change of password for the site the e-mail from WordPress.com included the following URL: https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=rp&key=dT8vhlLqWik4Wo2k97rU&login=understandingdc
It doesn’t work anymore. Indicates that “This webpage has a redirect loop,” if that helps.

I’m still disparately seeking help locating my blog files. I did have a wordpress.com blog and now I cannot find it. I’ve linked a pdf file that includes a google reference to my blog, the message you receive when you try to reach the blog from there, and a copy of the email I was sent when I originally signed up for WordPress. Shouldn’t there be some record of my blog on file with WordPress? If the blog is lost is there any chance that any of the post files still exist somewhere?

It’s WordPress.ORG install and you pay dreamhost to host it!
