Can I retire a post from the blog without actually deleting it permanently?
-
My theme is Twenty Twelve with CSS. Can I retire a post such that it is not in the regular post stream but so that I can resurrect it some time in the future? Is there something simple to accomplish this that I’m just not aware of? For example, will this strategy work: edit the post in question with a minor change and then save it as a “draft”. Will the original one still be out there and accessible (thereby defeating my strategy)?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there. You don’t need CSS to do this, but actually you already gave the right answer. If you set the post to draft and update it will still appear in your All Posts screen, but it won’t appear on your blog anymore. You don’t even need to edit it. You can simply change the visibility using the Quick Edit option on the All Posts page in the dashboard. http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/post-visibility/
The other options are to set the post to private or to password-protect it. In those cases it will still appear on the blog, but only admins/people with the password will be able to read it.
You can set it back to public at any time and you can also change the date and time it must be published, thereby changing its position relative to other posts on the blog.
