Can I roll my site back 36hours?
-
Hello,
Yesterday I had a disaster on my blog site.
I tried to fine tune my menus when my internet connection fluctuated considerably. This resulted in menus losing bits, changing settings etc and now my social menu does not have proper icons, my blog does not actually list my blogs – which can only be accessed via direct link to url or from the archive section on my site.
This blog is for a university assignment that is due in 5 days, so I am starting to freak out a little.
Is it possible to roll the site back 36 hours? Thanks
AbiThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi Abi,
Sorry to hear you had a disaster on your site!
I’m afraid it’s not possible to roll back to a version of your site 36 hours ago. However, if you’ve lost from content from your posts and pages, you might be able to restore them from your revision history:

my blog does not actually list my blogs – which can only be accessed via direct link to url
I just sorted this out for you — so that’s one thing fixed :) I set your posts page to Blog in My Sites > Customize > Static Front Page.
This resulted in menus losing bits, changing settings etc and now my social menu does not have proper icons
The social widget in your sidebar has icons for each service — it looks like you have that working again.
If you need any help, just let me know and I can point you in the right direction.

Hi gemmacevans,
If I look at pages that are published I can see:
“Not Used Blog Posts Your latest posts”
How do I reactivate that part.
I may have been adjusting my theme whilst you were fixing my page – sorry :)Happy about the widgets, I worked out how they worked – thank you, and the new theme I have chosen doesn’t shift my photos around the page oddly like the previous one did.
I really appreciate your help.

Hi Abi,
If I look at pages that are published I can see:
“Not Used Blog Posts Your latest posts”I think I see what happened. Your posts page was ‘Blog’ but that page is now in the trash:
https://wordpress.com/pages/trashed/throughmyeyes895.wordpress.com
This means there is currently no page to display the posts on. You can either restore that page, or create a new one.
Once you have done that, go to Static Front Page in your Customizer and set that page to be your ‘Posts page’:
https://wordpress.com/customize/
I’m pleased you managed get back up and running again :)
If you have any problems, come back to me!
