Can I route an old, deleted blog of mine to direct to a new domain?
-
If I register the domain for an old free blog that I deleted, can I get that old, deleted address to route to the new domain when people click on old links to my deleted blog?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I am sorry but you cannot claim a deleted blog URL. No one can use a deleted blog URL regardless of who registered it. Deleted blog URLs are not recycled here. You can confirm by reading:

Or you can register a domain via a domain mapping upgrade and it will not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is.

Hello,
I had a free blog (thewomanandthedragon.wordpress.com) that I deleted. In retrospect, I should have set it to private instead of deleting it. Now I want to continue that blog, so I’m thinking of registering thewomanandthedragon.com. My question is this: can I somehow set it up so that when people click on old links to my deleted blog that they get routed to my new domain? -
It matters not what the underlying .wordpress.com URL is when domain mapping. The reason we purchase domain mapping is so that there is a seamless redirect from the old sub-domain URL to the same content under the new domain URL every time a link is clicked anywhere on the interent.
