Can I search in the forums?

So don’t fuss at me, I see the box only on the main page. Can’t actually search once I’ve selected the CSS Customization forum. I really am not totally illiterate and have spent some time trying to learn before asking needless questions.

(1) Not to worry you have found the search box for the support, the ideas and the css customization forums. It’s an all in one search box to three different forums. The key words you use will direct you to related and relevant threads in the correct forum. :)
(2) I have provided you with links to resources in other threads. And I have also provided you with links to available customized themes in another thread to. :) Frankly, I’m a speed reader myself and a quick typist so I find it impossible to believe that you actually had the time to read and carefully consider the information linked to them and still had time to type this too.
(3) *humour* BTW on a personal note your veiled order “don’t fuss at me” was inappropriate. My response is: don’t ever give me an order again, unless you are prepared to have the pink witch from hell ride her power broom right up your nose cursing you with migraines for life. And “no” I’m not angry I’m *lol* girlfriend. When I’m angry I’m beautiful. ;)

BTW, I maybe didn’t read everything just during this computer session, but have spent many late nights trying to make sense of everything before just closing the screen and trying another day. I have refrained from posting other questions in the past. Sometimes, just a new answer or new wording or a second time reading something makes it click….. I am pretty good around windows, even troubleshooting in safemode, and in many different programs. This language (this stuff is sort of the behind the scenes stuff in my mind) is new to me and I’m trying. I am not sure that I really need to give up. I don’t think what I have in mind is anything super fancy or not available. I am willing to bet that someone has customized a theme with CSS that will work for me, I just need to find it and get help making it work. I have also stated that I am willing to hire someone if I need to.

These are the same links to some css customized themes posted in the other thread.

Locating a theme designer can’t be all that hard can it? The bottom of every theme in the presentation area of our blogs has a link to the designer. One can also use google (blog search) or another search engine to locate wordpress.com theme designers. Presumably they do it for a living and will be advertising online, right? -
Thanks for the links. I did see that you posted them earlier. I was able to take one of them and put it in the CSS box to make temporary changes (I know I need to buy the upgrade) but I also realize that I don’t understand it – I just did it. I know that basic things like altering font size, etc.. I should be able to follow directives on from other posts I’ve seen. I did follow sunburnt thread and add a header to a different theme (again temporarily) but it didn’t fit correctly within that theme’s allotted proportions. So that being said, do you think I am in over my head? I am debating between just doing this purchase, going to blogger (which I have played around on too :( – but they seem to be filtered out from my work computer and wp is not), and just shutting up and using a template that I’m not quite wild about. What do you think?

hmmm …
When I first came here in April I eager to fill my sidebar with novelties. Now I think of that kind of cutesy stuff as useless “tat” that takes up valuable space. In the beginning I longed for more themes to choose from and custom headers. Now we have more themes both with and without headers and even more are coming out every month.
I fretted and I fumed but in the end I admitted to myself that I was wasting valuable blogging time over something that in the final analysis wasn’t in my case significant.
I considered these threads below and took note that there was no staff support for css cutomization. I have no coding skills to speak of just some html. I decided I didn’t want to take the time to learn css away from the time I had for blogging. I also thought about hiring a designer but chose not to do so because I’m fickle and spending money to have a theme I’m bound to grow tired of in a short period of time just didn’t make sense. http://wordpress.com/forums/topic.php?id=3241&replies=18

Currently I change themes and headers almost as frequently as I change clothes. *lol*
So, you have yet to list and describe the features you want in a customized theme. My advice is to do so. Do a really good job of articulating what you want, post to the css forum and then wait. Eventually someone with a proficiency in css will come along, look at your list and tell you what is or isn’t possible through css customization.
My best advice is slow down a little, create some content and have some fun with theme you have before you make a decision. :D -
Thank you – I think that may have been just what I needed to hear! :) Sharing your blog history was helpful as well. I am appreciative and realize that I too am fretting and fuming over stuff that has certainly taken away from my initial goal of even starting a blog!
Happy New Year and thanks again –
