Can I see my site is working before I pay?
-
I have had problems with deafwhale.com for many years. WordPress said they would get back to me but never did. I thought deafwhale.com could never be fix. But now we are ready to go and I can see how WordPress has set it up without paying money. I been screwed online too many times. Show me the site for 10 minutes and send the money!

Your site deafwhale.com is up and running. We can’t help you as your is not running on the wordpress.com platform but uses the open source wordpress.org, https://www.whoishostingthis.com/#search=deafwhale.com

Hi there,
I can see you’re in the process of transferring that domain to us. A domain transfer takes about a week to complete, and while that process is running it’s not possible to change your domain’s settings to point it to your site at deafwhale.wordpress.com.
As soon as the transfer completes, you can switch the domain to also point to us, and at that point it will start showing your WordPress.com site. Until then, it will continue showing the self-hosted site it’s currently still connected to.
Let me know if you have any questions about this.

The 60-year-old non-profit Deafwhale Society is the oldest still-working marine mammal conservation group in the world. We wanted to move our website from go-daddy to WordPress.com so we could work with the editing tools of WordPress.Com.
We contacted WordPress.Com and ask if we could pay you after the site was up and running. You said no, we had to pay upfront. Well, we paid almost 5,000 pesos upfront several months ago and as of today, https://deafwhale.com is totally dead. Nothing is working! No one can open deafwhale.com and read our message about saving marine mammals.
I have contacted WordPress.com over and over again maybe 10 times and can not get anyone that even give a rat’s ass about helping us. I am so sickened by your terrible service!
I see that you have a way I can pay to get one of your staff to help me fix my site. But this seems like BLACKMAIL to me. WordPress.com promised to fix my site and demanded that I pay upfront and now they are demanding that I pay even more upfront to hire someone to fix the problem. Doesn’t that seem like BLACKMAIL to you?
Right now, on a scale of 0 to 10, I rate WordPress.com as a big fat ZERO!
Supposedly, deafwhale.com is hosted by StableHost, a group connected with WordPress.Com. I have contacted StableHost many times but they can’t solve the problem. They say the problem is with WordPress.com!
I would cancel my efforts with WordPress.Com but then for sure almost 50 years of hard work will be lost forever somewhere inside the poorly working WordPress.Com.
So now… what is the Deafwhale Society expected to do? Let WordPress.com destroy over 50 years of hard work?

Your domain is not yet showing your WordPress.com site, because you have not yet pointed it to us. You’ve transferred the domain registration to us, but as I indicated in my comment above, you still have to switch the domain to point to us, as that does not happen automatically. When the transfer completed, you would also have received an email explaining this.
Right now, the domain deafwhale.com is still pointed to Singlehop.com. If it’s not loading anything, that’s a problem on their end.
To have the domain point to us, go to My Site ->Manage ->Domains, click on then domain, and click on Name Severs and DNS. Select the option to switch to WordPress.com’s name servers. After you do that, the domain will start showing your WordPress.com site, deafwhale.wordpress.com, within a few hours.
However, I see that WordPress.com site is still completely empty, so it doesn’t appear that you’ve transferred your site’s content to us yet, only the domain.
I see that you have a way I can pay to get one of your staff to help me fix my site. But this seems like BLACKMAIL to me.
Live chat and email support are included in your Premium Plan, and from our logs I can see we’ve tried to help you in several live chat sessions. We also currently have an email support ticket open with you where someone replied to you earlier today.
We do not charge per individual support session, so if you’re seeing something saying you have to pay for support, you’re not looking at an official WordPress.com support site.
Please reply to the email Andrew sent you earlier today, and we can continue helping you there.
