Can I sell products from my blog?

Sorry to be so dense, but I am not clear on the policy of selling products from my blog.

I design and manufacture a Li-Ion battery charge for the RC hobby market. I plan on selling it though eBay, Amazon and direct through PayPal.

On my blog I would like to be able direct the viewers to visit the first two places and give them a link or tell them they can pay me directly through PayPal.

    Is this classified as advertising?

If I move my blog over to say DreamHost is it permitted there?

    Thanks

    Thanks, Fred

    Hi Fred,

As long as you create the product yourself, you are welcome to sell it from your blog. You can create links to the sites where visitors can buy it, and you can also set up a PayPal “Buy Now” button on your blog by following this guide: PayPal

While you can sell your own work on your blog, no blogger initiated advertising, retailing, or reselling of work created or services provided by other people is allowed on WordPress.com. If you want to do that or if you require e-commerce/shopping cart functionality beyond what I described above, you might be interested in a self-hosted (WordPress.org) installation with a host like DreamHost. There are no restrictions on e-commerce if you set up a self-hosted WordPress.org blog instead of a WordPress.com blog, but there are some added responsibilities.

Please see this link to learn about the differences:

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org
