Can I set up a blog without a domain, or is this option not available any more?

    See subject – I can’t seem to set up a generic ‘xx.wordpress.com’ blog any more, has this option been removed?

    Hi @jorisbohnson, we have various free .blog subdomains now for blogs, in hopes of giving folks more options. So we always show .blog options if you choose blog on signup.

    If you need a free subdomain that definitely ends in .wordpress.com, try choosing a non-blog option at signup. You can always switch to a blog afterward by changing themes / using the Posts page for your front page.
