Can I set up a page redirect in my blog?
-
is it possible to set up a page redirect inside a free wordpress blog? Or is that only possible with the paid WordPress blog on the .org site? — ie a page that someone is sent to after clicking on a URL outsite of WordPress and then on arriving immediately is sent on to another site… (to help with tracking).
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi,
The Site Redirect upgrade will direct all pages on a site elsewhere. I don’t know of any tool which available for WordPress.com sites that would allow redirection of a single page.

@musicdoc1
This is confirmation that what you posted above is correct and has not changed when you were away. -
Thank you both -I thought as much… I don’t suppose you happen to know if it would be possible from an upgraded site – Premium version?

Hi,
WordPress.com Premium includes Custom CSS. It might be possible with CSS. You might wish to submit a request directly to the CSS customization forum.

@kareninglis
You can create a custom menu https://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/view-all/ and include a custom link https://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/view-all/#adding-custom-links in it to another site. -
@ timethief,
That’s a good idea, but it won’t help given the following condition specified in the OP:
ie a page that someone is sent to after clicking on a URL outsite of WordPress and then on arriving immediately is sent on to another site… (to help with tracking).
@ kareninglis,
I forgot to say you’re welcome. -
You’re right the tracking code bit is a no go. Also note that this cannot be addressed via any CSS editing.

Regardless of the desired effects on tracking, you can have every internal link to a page point to a different page, internal or external, but this will have no effect upon previously created external links to the original page.

I didn’t know that. Googled some sites which list various “tricks” that I thought might include some applicable means of redirecting a page. For example: How to Redirect a Web Page @ CSS-Tricks.
