Can I set up the payment to allow the access of the blog to the followers?

  I’m just wondering if there is a way to set up the payment option (like paypal) to give my followers an access to see my blog, like an annual membership. Or, is there any alternate way to do something similar?

  (I’m already aware of the donation option though.)

  There’s not way to do that on a free hosted WordPress.com blog. Hire a web host and set up a WordPress.org install.

  You could do a workaround where you have a public blog which is basically a static website with the paypal button, and when you get the payment you Invite them to a private blog, where the actual content is.
