Can I somehow get a blog address that's been already used but deleted?
-
Hi everyone,
I wanted to use a name for my blog (in the “blogname”.wordpress.com adress) that was, according to wordpress, already in use. A couple of years ago I wanted to create a blog for the first time but it didn’t work out, and I deleted the whole account, so I have strong suspicions that it was me who already used said address. The blog with this address doesn’t exist anymore, it says “deleted by author” if I type it in. Is there any way to get the adress/blog name back?
Thanks to anyone who can give me an answer (even if you can only tell me that it’s impossible, I wanted to make sure before I used another name)
LG

The deleted blog URL will not become available again. I’m sorry but you cannot recover or register any deleted blog URL. Deleted blog URLs are not recycled, regardless of who registered and deleted them and no exceptions are made.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/You can register another .wordpress.com blog http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/
Then if you wish to you can register a domain via a domain mapping upgrade because it does not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is when you are domain mapping.

Okay thanks for your quick answer. ;) Thought that might be the case but I was somehow too dumb to find the support topic…
