can I still edit my WP site after redirecting the site to a new domain?

Something I read made me think I can’t change it once I redirect the site to my new domain. I’d like any changes I make at WordPress.com to redirect to this new domain each time I save them. Will that happen?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    (1) Remain at free hosted WordPress.com
Do you intend to still have WordPress.com free hosting your current blog and domain mapping to the domain? If so then nothing changes aside form the URLs.

    (2) Hire a web host & move content into a WordPress.org install
Or do you intend to set up a WordPress.ORG install and export the content out of your WordPress.com free hosted blog into a file on your desktop and then import it into a WordPress.ORG install?

Please clarify which one you plan to do.

I plan to remain at free-hosted WordPress.com, and use the $12 upgrade for domain mapping/site redirect. Will I still be able to edit the site on the Dashboard at WordPress.com once it’s redirected to my new domain?

If you buy the domain mapping upgrade, your site will continue to be hosted by WordPress.com and you will continue to use the WordPress.com dashboard.

If you ever decided to leave and install WordPress.org on another hosting provider, you’ll be using the WordPress.com dashboard only to manage the domain name itself (for example to change the name servers). Anything else will be done on your own dashboard with your hosting provider.

    Does that answer your question?

Yes, I think it did – thank you . I’m still waiting for my wp.com site to be redirected to http://www.newslettersforgood.com. I purchased the upgrade late last week. Is there anything else I have to do so that the above URL will show up for site visitors instead of http://www.newslettersforgood.wordpress.com? If I need to start a new question for this, I will.

Yes, there is one more thing you need to do if you haven’t already done so: set your domain name as primary. Follow step 3 below please:
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-existing-domain/
(Whether you purchased your domain name through WordPress.com or you used your existing domain name, this step is the same)

Thank you SO much! Really appreciate your help. I’m going to wait until I finalize a few things to do this, but I am very grateful to know how!
