Can I switch from a paid domain back to a free wordpress one?

Hi,
I’ve had a blog for 2 years now and my domain has come to the end of its period and I don’t want to renew. I like having my blog to share longer form content with my instagram followers but don’t want to keep shelling out money for it when I don’t have the time to make it profitable at all. I would like to go back to having a wordpress sub-domain that allows me to keep my content and post on the very occasional times I want to. I can’t seem to find any information about how to do this or if it is possible. I know most people swap the other way but this is the right choice for me at the moment.

Your site is not hosted with WordPress.com. It is a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted with Bluehost. You would need to cancel any of the upgrades directly from their end.
